The first members of the association, officially born in December 2004, started re-enacting in 2000 as a group of friends. These pioneers, got together and participated in military style events and commemorations in Italy (for example Beltring, in England and events in the Czech Republic). They started together, with other re-enacting groups (Axis and Allies), to set a basic standard that is getting always better. At this moment, there are many groups who re-enact all kinds of Ages: from the Ancient Greeks to the Vietnam War. The Feldgrau Association is the first group in Italy that re-enacts a World War II German Infantry Division and are recognized by the Public Administration and Veteran Organizations. We think that this new activity is a modern way to remember history, and gives all the people involved in the sector a better view of the past. We also think that these events, where veterans attend, are useful for telling true stories, knowing opinions and having a clear idea of what happened during World War II.
